Montrose March On

1 Jun 2017 by Kenny Christie

On Wednesday night, Montrose advanced to the Quarter Finals of the Two Counties Cup, with a resounding 9 wicket victory over an Arbroath XI.
Sanjay was the MOTM with both bat and ball, with his four overs going for 9 runs and two wickets while also scoring 52*.
Debutants James Thornton and Jack Durrant both took a wicket and a catch apiece as Arbroath were restricted to 108 for 6 off of their allotted overs.
Skipper Petrie was his miserly best with the crimson rambler, taking a wicket in the process.
A solid, if unspectacular opening partnership of 43 between Pink and the veteran Christie, paved the way for Thornton [27*] to assist Sanj in seeing Montrose over the line.
Next stop is Stoneywood Dyce, with the tie to be played before the 18th of June.
